SA RED CROSS AIR MERCY SERVICE

of all communities by facilitating access to
Health Care through Air Ambulance and
Flying Doctor Outreach Services.
 
PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER – HEAD OFFICE, CAPE TOWN


This is an ideal position for a person with an outgoing personality and well honed communication skills. In addition to an appropriate qualification, appointment to this exciting and challenging position requires a minimum of two years PR experience. Outstanding spoken and written language skills are of vital importance, as is computer literacy (specifically pertaining to MS Office).

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaison and networking with Media
  • Preparing and distribution of press releases
  • Preparing and distribution of all PR written material
  • Liaison and networking with Government (on all levels)
  • Promoting AMS activities, projects and programmes
  • Preparing and distribution of annual report and quarterly newsletter
  • Website Management

Candidates should have a flexible approach to working after hours when needed, and be prepared to travel. Own transport and a valid Code B (former Code 08) drivers licence is essential.

Preference will be given in accordance to the employment equity policy of the AMS.

SERVICE CO-ORDINATOR: KIMBERLEY
 
The ideal applicant must have Paramedic or ICU/Trauma Unit Professional Nursing qualification, with relevant experience. FMA, ACLS, PALS and ATLS qualifications are strongly recommended.

Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as be a team player, be able to function under pressure and work independently.

Applicants must have a flexible approach to working hours and be prepared to participate in an after office hours standby and duties.

Duties include:
Medical Flight crew member, co-ordination of flights, medical equipment and supplies control and general administration.

HELICOPTER PILOT: NELSPRUIT
 

Applicants must be in possession of a valid South African Commercial Pilots Licence with instrument rating and
preferably with a turbine rating.

A minimum of 1000 hours (total Rotor wing time) with appropriate experience is required, while a type rating on AS350 B2 and/or B3 would be advantageous.

Applicants should have a flexible approach to working hours and be prepared to do relief work at other bases in South Africa
