AMS management identified that the extensive and diverse training requirements within the organisation are a priority to manage. Therefore the AMS Training Department came into existence in the middle of January 2009 when the training manager was appointed.
The training requirements range over a number of specialised fields of expertise ranging from initial and recurrency training in aviation and its support systems, to aero-medical training in all its varied aspects. Training is required for rescue, aviation safety, ground safety, quality and IT among others is also included.
Training includes our partners, these are the organisations to which we provide services and who interact with our various aspects of specialised service. Thus we find ourselves extending training to various hospital teams in all areas of South Africa, who prepare patients for medical transfer, or who are required to secure safe landing areas for our helicopters and fixed wing aircraft.
We work country wide with the emergency services and are able to provide specialist transport handling training to the police, fire & other provincial service providers as the need arises.
As we are now the largest aero-medical service in South Africa, with a national footprint, the training requirements will be rolled out within virtually the entire country and we look forward to working with our various partners in all Provinces.
