The journey of a thousand miles officially began on Saturday, 12 May 2018 for four dedicated walkers. The walkers are currently embarking on the third Mercy Marathon, walking more than 2 000kms from Richards Bay to Stellenbosch. The Mercy Marathon aims to raise awareness and funds for our organisation. Malcolm Johnson (60), one of the founder members are joined by Rudolph Williams (61), Mark Koopman (51) and Franklin Pecur (45) who is currently on day three of the 36 day journey. Together these four individuals have an overwhelming active lifestyle some of which includes completing several walking competitions and 17 Comrades marathons. A commemorative scroll is carried from town to town and will signed by the Mayor of each town.

This morning the team left Durban to start the 81km journey to Pietermaritzburg. We thank these four gentlemen for dedicating their time, leaving their families behind to take to the road for our cause. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to the sponsors for making this walk possible. We wish them a safe and enjoyable journey. Attached please find a copy of the route.
