  • Sanesh Singh

Today we introduce Sanesh Singh, NOC Co-ordinator to you who hails from the largest city in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal. Sanesh has been part of the AMS family since April 2016, here’s a look into his world…

Tell us about yourself? “I was born in Durban and grew up in Shallcross where I attended both primary and high schools. I started at AEMS in 1996 and have worked in emergency services ever since.”

Were you in any other trade before? “No, emergency services has been a huge part of my life.”

What is the best/worst thing to happen to you since you started working at AMS? “I am blessed to have a job that I enjoy and allows me to be part of an awesome team working on rescue operations and saving lives and at the same time I am able to be with my family. I am grateful for being employed in a country where the unemployment rate is high.”

If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be? “A chef, I would like to learn to whip up delicious vegetarian/vegan meals as I am health conscious and would like to lead a healthier lifestyle.”

What do you do in your spare time? “I spend time on my cars (I service and fix whatever goes wrong with my cars), I am hands-on at home and enjoy my time with my three dogs.”

What is the one thing about you few people know? “I love my 80’s music and often drive with my music on really loud.”

What do you enjoy most about your job?  “Monitoring a mission and be part of a successful operation.”

What is on your bedside table? “My tablet, Car and Sound Magazine.”

If you could have dinner with five famous people from history, who would it be? “Hitler – how did he feel after killing so many jews, Mother Theresa how did she live with so little, I read she was really very frugal, Desmond Tutu, to hear him speak about the struggle in South Africa ,  Michael Jackson and Renowned chef Yudhika Sunjanani. Imagine Hitler dancing to Michael Jackson.”

What was your first thought when you woke up this morning? “I am thankful that my son and wife climbed Lions Head safely.”

What has been the happiest day of your life? “The day my son was born and every time my son calls me “Pa”.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?  “A Formula One racing driver and hits those tracks.”

What is your greatest indulgence? “A Milky Bar choc.”

What is the one thing, you can’t live without? “Wi-Fi, I go into depression mode when it is depleted.”

Best piece of advice anyone ever gave you? “Nothing comes for free, you have to work for it.”

What animal best represents you and why? “Naturally a lion, I am a Leo.”

Any motto you live by? “Live your best life.”
