With 2017 in full swing we hope this year will be filled with success, true happiness and good fortune for everyone. We are excited to continue this year embarking on our journey to introduce our team who work tirelessly to ensure this service reaches all communities. The AMS in partnership with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health provides delivery of appropriate and effective healthcare to rural communities by flying specialists as well as healthcare support personnel – many of whom are volunteers to outlying hospitals. The air ambulance service complements the local road ambulance service by providing rapid emergency aero-medical transportation of patients who are critically ill or injured. Today we introduce Nokuthula Maphumulo; affectionately known as Thulie, Receptionist at the AMS King Shaka base. Thulie born and bred in KwaZulu-Natal grew up in the largest sugar producing districts in the world – Tongaat and later moved to Phoenix.
