The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health and AMS Durban Base share a contractual relationship for the ‘Flying Doctor Service’ as well as ‘The Air Ambulance Service’ aero-medical system with the KZN Emergency Medical & Rescue Service (EMRS).

These special relations and close collaboration with each other have contributed to the success of the KZN Programmes over the past ten (10) years. It has been a relationship of Openness, Trust and Support that was fostered over the years that allowed us to be focussed on Health Care Delivery directly with our services complementing each other rather than running parallel systems.

In KZN the Flying Doctor Service and the Aero-medical systems have opened up the gateway to Access of Specialist Health Care to even the remotest part of the province which is a great feat by any means.

The partnership with Department of Health has proved that together we can achieve much more when we work together for the same purpose.
