Emergency Care Practitioner (B.Tech/B.EMC): Cape Town Base



The SA Red Cross Air Mercy Service is currently seeking an experienced BTech/BEMC Flight Paramedic who is registered with the HPCSA.


Must be a South African Citizen.

A minimum of 2 years operational road ambulance and ICU transfer experience.

Code C1 Drivers Licence with PrDP - Passenger.

Aviation Healthcare Provider Course.

ACLS + ITLS / ATLS + PALS or equivalent.

Computer literate: Office 365.

Reliable personal transport.

Flexibility with changing requirements regarding working hours.

Be prepared to do relief work at other bases in South Africa.

Occupational health assessment.


Operational Flight Paramedic, quality improvement, control of medical equipment, medications & supplies, operational related functions, training, general administration, data-capturing and be prepared to participate in the co-ordination of flights and other duties as required from time to time.

External Load Operator / Rescue training and operations may be required as part of normal duties.

Active participation in Clinical, Safety and Quality Management Systems.


Cooperative team player, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of dealing with changing deadlines and priorities.
