SAVING LIVES A TEAM EFFORT |

Thanks to the quick response of the rescue teams - André, Basil and Paulus from Metro Rescue, and Kevin, Angelo and Afzil from the Red Cross - le Roux was taken safely to the George Hospital. According to Dr Martin Viljoen, Le Roux was released from the George Hospital last week.

Since the South African Red Cross Air Mercy Service (AMS) in partnership with the provincial Department of Health opened a base at the Bloemfontein Airport on 1 February, the EC 130 B4 helicopter has flown to Bethlehem and the Eastern Free State regularly. Pilot Donovan Kohl and flight paramedics KV Naidoo and Paul Sookram have saved quite a few lives since starting this service.
